What do hole sponsors get?

Hole sponsors pay for a package, then they ask what shows up on the course and after the round. This page is the fulfillment list—signage, shout-outs, photos, and who owns each deliverable—not a national rate card. For how to set dollars and tiers, use the live method guide: How to price hole sponsorships.

This guide does not invent volumes or a standard price. The Giving Cup outing is a demo only—not a customer.

The deliverable list sponsors actually expect

A clean hole-sponsor package usually promises some mix of:

  1. On-course sign — logo or name at the tee or green they bought
  2. Recognition on the event page — sponsor name or logo where guests register and chip in
  3. Day-of shout-out — emcee or captain announcement at shotgun or awards
  4. Photo proof — a shot of the sign and, when useful, the foursome at that hole
  5. Optional extras — program listing, cart sign, social post, or a brief thank-you note after the round

Write each item as something you can prove on Monday morning. Vague “brand exposure” is how disputes start.

Signage the committee can actually fulfill

Before you sell the hole:

  • Confirm who prints the sign and who places it (committee vs course)
  • Confirm size and stake rules with the course
  • Confirm whether the sponsor supplies a print-ready logo or you rebuild it
  • Confirm rain/replacement rules if a sign goes missing mid-round

If you cannot place the sign, do not sell that hole as a sponsorship. Sell a different package or a lower recognition tier.

Recognition that matches the registration page

Sponsors notice when the public event page never shows their name. Keep the sponsor list on the same page guests use to register and chip in, so recognition is not trapped in a PDF nobody opens. Puttfor’s outing path is built around a public event page with registration, gifts, and live scoring together—useful when the sponsor package includes on-page recognition. Day-of shout-outs and photos

Assign one person to:

  • Confirm the sponsor name pronunciation before the shotgun
  • Take the hole-sign photo before play moves past that tee
  • Send proof photos with a short thank-you within a few business days

Delayed photos are still better than no proof. Missing photos after a paid package are how next year’s renewals die.

Title vs hole vs cart — keep packages distinct

Committees get in trouble when “hole sponsor,” “title sponsor,” and “cart sponsor” all promise the same three bullets. Separate the packages:

  • Title / presenting — naming on the event page header, primary shout-out, often a larger logo block
  • Hole — one tee/green sign plus the core recognition list above
  • Cart / beverage / contest — a different physical deliverable (cart placard, drink station, longest-drive board)

If two packages share identical deliverables, sponsors will ask why the prices differ. Fix the list before you fix the dollars — then return to How to price hole sponsorships.

What this page is not

Price and fulfillment are two emails. Send the price method first; send this deliverable list with the signed package.

Fee context for the outing (not the sponsor rate)

Software that runs registration and gifts should be budgeted separately from sponsor tiers. Puttfor charity outings have no setup fee; the platform keeps 4% + $0.40 on store purchases and team gifts; live scoring is included with the page. (puttfor.com/pricing, 2026-09-24)

What this page does not claim

  • No invented sponsor rates or national averages
  • No Giving Cup as a live customer
  • No volumes or dollars raised
  • Spreadsheet sponsor tracking is practice, not a SKU

Next step

Build the package list, then set dollars with How to price hole sponsorships. If title, hole, and cart still share the same three bullets, sort the tiers with Hole sponsor levels for a charity golf outing. Start the outing page at puttfor.com/events/new.
