Privacy Policy
Puttfor is charity golf software operated by matterunknown LLC. This policy explains what we collect when hosts, guests, and volunteers use the site, how we use it, and how to reach us about it.
Who this covers
Puttfor (“we”, “us”) is a product of matterunknown LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This policy applies to puttfor.com and to the event pages hosted on it.
What we collect
- Account data. When a host or volunteer signs in, our authentication provider records an email address and a user identifier. We also record the display name and role you set.
- Event data. Event name, course, timezone, teams, players, scorekeepers, store items, and scores that hosts enter to run their outing.
- Purchase data. When a guest checks out or gifts a team, Stripe collects the payment method and returns a purchase record (amount, currency, connected account, fee, and a Stripe reference). We store the reference and the amounts on the event; we do not store card numbers.
- Contact submissions. Anything you send us by email, including messages to the addresses below.
- Basic request logs. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamps) used to keep the site available and to investigate abuse.
How we use it
- Run the event: publish the page, collect entries, keep score, and settle payouts.
- Send transactional email tied to an event or a purchase (receipts, confirmations).
- Keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations tied to the payments we help process.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use event or purchase data to target advertising.
Payments and Stripe
Purchases on Puttfor are processed by Stripe. Stripe is the merchant of record for card processing and applies its own privacy notice to that data. The event host connects their own Stripe account, and payouts flow to that account after our platform fee.
Cookies and analytics
Puttfor uses cookies that are necessary for the site to work: authentication sessions and , where present, security tokens. Stripe sets its own cookies during checkout to detect fraud. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on puttfor.com.
Sharing
We share personal information only with the providers we use to run the service:
- Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database and cache providers.
- Our authentication provider (Clerk) for sign-in and account management.
- Stripe, for payments and payouts.
- Government authorities or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights.
Retention
We keep account data while the account is active. We keep event records and purchase references for as long as the host needs them to reconcile payouts and taxes, and for a reasonable period after that to meet accounting and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete records that are no longer required.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you. Write to the address below and tell us which event or account the request relates to. Hosts can remove teams, players, and volunteers from their own event pages at any time. For transactional emails you did not expect from us, see Email preferences.
Children
Puttfor is built for adults running fundraisers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
