Hole sponsor levels for a charity golf outing

Committees ask for hole sponsor levels when the ask sheet still mixes title, hole, and cart into one blurry package. This page is the package structure only—title / hole / cart-path style tiers—without inventing a national rate card or dollar amounts. Set the dollars with the live method guide: How to price hole sponsorships. Fulfill what you sold with What do hole sponsors get?

This guide does not invent volumes or a standard price. The Giving Cup outing is a demo only—not a customer.

Why levels matter before the ask

Sponsors notice when “hole sponsor,” “title sponsor,” and “cart sponsor” promise the same three bullets at three different prices. Fix the package map first. Then return to the pricing method. Then write the deliverable list each buyer can prove on Monday morning.

A clean level sheet usually answers:

  1. What physical thing shows up on the course
  2. What recognition shows on the public event page
  3. Who owns placement, logo files, and rain/replacement
  4. How this level differs from the one above and below it

Title / presenting level (structure only)

Reserve the top level for naming that sits on the event page header and the primary day-of shout-out. Typical structure—not a price:

  • Naming on the public registration page header
  • Primary logo block where guests register and chip in
  • Lead shout-out at shotgun or awards
  • Optional extras the committee can actually fulfill (program cover, larger tee sign, photo package)

Do not invent a national “title usually costs $X.” Your market, field size, and course rules set the dollars on How to price hole sponsorships.

Hole level (structure only)

The core hole package is one tee or green they bought, plus recognition that matches the registration page. Typical structure—not a price:

  • One on-course sign at the assigned tee or green
  • Sponsor name or logo on the public event page
  • Day-of shout-out (emcee or captain)
  • Photo proof of the sign (and foursome when useful)

If you cannot place the sign, do not sell that hole. Sell a different package or a lower recognition tier. Fulfillment detail lives on What do hole sponsors get?

Cart-path / beverage / contest style (structure only)

Keep secondary packages distinct from hole and title. Typical structure—not a price:

  • Cart — cart placard or path sign the field sees between holes
  • Beverage / hospitality — drink station or turn recognition with a clear owner for stock and signage
  • Contest — longest-drive or closest-to-pin board with a named prize and photo proof

If two packages share identical deliverables, sponsors will ask why the prices differ. Separate the list before you separate the dollars.

How levels connect to money and fulfillment

Use three pages, not one overloaded PDF:

  1. This page — package levels (structure)
  2. How to price hole sponsorships — method for setting dollars in your market
  3. What do hole sponsors get? — deliverable list and who owns each item

Put the sponsor list on the same public page guests use to register and chip in, so recognition is not trapped in a PDF nobody opens. Puttfor’s outing path is built around a public event page with registration, gifts, and live scoring together—useful when a package includes on-page recognition. Fee context for the outing (not the sponsor rate)

Software that runs registration and gifts should be budgeted separately from sponsor tiers. Puttfor charity outings have no setup fee; the platform keeps 4% + $0.40 on store purchases and team gifts; live scoring is included with the page. (puttfor.com/pricing, 2026-09-21)

What this page does not claim

  • No invented sponsor rates or national averages
  • No Giving Cup as a live customer
  • No volumes or dollars raised
  • Not a substitute for the live pricing method or fulfillment guide
  • Spreadsheet sponsor tracking is practice, not a SKU
